Website Updates + Featured Artists Section

Some new updates have been added to the website- I’ve added a “tracks we’re spinning section” where we (and by we, I mean Jonathan, my #2 man helping me get magic tree up and running) pin 10 of our current favorite tracks each week. I’ve also added a “featured artist of the month” section, where each month we’ll feature a Texas band/artist we’d like to highlight. Each featured artist will have a piece written about them, including an interview (if they so choose).

Some more features being added or considered are:

-an about section featuring information about magic tree staff members

-a public forum section

-a “videos” section (100% adding once we get those interviews!)

-many easter eggs...

Hello Magic Tree

Hey everybody, things are still being set up, but the website is coming together and the instagram and youtube pages have been created! So, an introduction into what this collective is about:

Magic Tree’s focus is the independent Texas music scene. D.I.Y spirit and community involvement are what this collective is founded on, and the goal is to shine a spotlight on great local bands, as well as promote involvement in the scene. We want to make it easy to find the best bands in Houston, and we want to provide a “hub” for local bands and artists wanting a platform to promote themselves on. We’ve got really cool stuff coming. Interviews, reviews, features... It’s gonna be so much fun.

IMPORTANT! If you’d like your band/project featured on Magic Tree, contact us! We’re ready and looking for cool stuff to feature on this site. You’re what make us matter. Magic Tree is (currently, as of the writing of this post) a two-man operation, but we need more people!!! If you’re at all interested in writing articles like this for the website, filming sets and interviews for our youtube channel, or curating playlists, please contact us!

Let’s grow this collective and make an awesome community out of this. :)
